About Us

The area is intersected by the Lapusna River and the Sărata River, a tributary of the Prut. The Prut steppe zone is characterized by a flatter and less wooded landscape. This area is crossed by the river Călmățui, which in Turkish translates as "white matter". Erosional processes differ in each area.

Why visiting us?

The topography is predominantly hilly with heights between 100 and 350 m. The landscape of the district is divided into three areas: the forested hills of Codru, the forested and less hilly steppe, and the steppe of Prut. The Codru forests are characterized by very complicated terrain

History

The district has been inhabited since the Stone Age (40,000–30,000 BC). On the territory of the present localities Rusca and Anina many cemeteries and settlements pertaining to the native Getae culture

Biosphere

     Terrain, slippery due to the Central Moldavian Plateau, west along the Prut River valley. With numerous fauna animals.

Hydrosphere

    District is located in the basin of the Prut River, crossed the Prut in west of district, the border with Romania, with intersection with Cogâlnic River and the Galbena River.
